Task of the day, May 5

Embellish or not to embellish – what do you think? Should I add a few buttons, or leave it? I know it’s difficult to say just from a little sneak peek, but this is a wall hanging and the buttons do add a little extra dimension to a very simple grid design. The plan was to do a little hand stitching, but a few bumps in the road have put a stop to that plan.

No Finish It update today; any time I have had for sewing has gone into this project.

  1. Hmmmm, since I'm the embellishment queen I'd say go for it. But instead of buttons, or maybe in addition to buttons on some squares, how about some wool or even paper flowers attached by a button or bead in the middle?

  3. Oh yes, buttons, more buttons - LOL. It does look lovely as it is though.

  4. I really like THESE buttons--their translucency is just right for the geometric layout.

  5. If it is indeed a wallhanging, then I say YES to buttons! They are beautiful! I love the aqua stitching.

  6. I'm with dogfishes. I trust your judgment. It's beautiful as is, but the buttons are pretty.

  9. I love it, the way it is, the stitching really makes a nice look. But, it is hard to tell online sometimes and it is what looks pleasing to your eye, since it will be hanging in your home.

  10. I love embellishment. (And you can always cut them off if you decide you don't like it)
