Huhhhh??

The latest issue of Norsk Quilteblad, the Norwegian Quilters Association magazine, came out last week including pictures of Norwegian quilts at the Festival of Quilts in Birmingham. Suddenly I understood a comment from a judge regarding my "1 of 10" quilt that it would have benefitted from blocking at the bottom.

Look what had happened to the perfectly straight-ish bottom of my quilt during shipment.I have been thinking about how this could happen. Any ideas? Has this happened to you? Has my quilt really been displayed like this?? How embarrassing.

There were also pictures of our International representative accepting my award on my behalf.

  1. Sorry that your beautiful quilt was displayed so poorly. I guwss that is a risk any time someone else handles our babies. It is still beautiful.

  4. Well that's weird! After all the blocking that you did do before sending it. Was it folded up? I have never sent quilts away to a show before, but I wonder if rolling it around a foam swimming pool noodle and packing that in a long poster box (or custom made box) would help preserve the shape? You certainly had strange things happen with this show & shipping, so I am so very happy for you that you won the award!!! congratulations again! BTW, have we seen a close up of the text on 1 of 10? Can you tell me what it says in the band of text?
