And next...

Some days I'm quite happy I don't know what comes next. Other days I wish I did so I could stop things from happening.

On Thursday my daughter took a fall down the stairs at her house. She could not break the fall with her hands as she was carrying the baby in his car seat and landed on her side and back. She suffered a big injury to her liver and the first 24 hours were all about waiting. Anxious waiting. She has a concussion and probably a whiplash injury to her neck. We will find out after the CT she's taking right now.

Suddenly I have found myself the primary caregiver of two little boys for the forseeable future. The first day was quite stressful, but things are slowly falling into place as they tend to do.

I keep telling myself to take deep breaths but I'm afraid I will crumble If I do. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.

Don't I feel the fool complaining the
other day about the little problems this summer...

  6. I'm so sorry about your daughter's accident, but it sounds like she will make a full recovery. What a blessing that you are nearby to help as she heals! What would she and her family do without you? So as someone else said, care for yourself every moment that you can!

All the best to all of you!

  14. Love and healing prayers for you all!
You are showing your grand babies what family
is all about...good times and hard times.
Set aside a little time after their bed time to
do a little crumbling....you are entitled.
Then pick up the crumbles and carry on :)

  23. Best wishes to you all! You must know more about your daughter's prognosis by now. Creating a routine with the little boys will make things a bit easier, and you must "put the oxygen mask on your own face before you start helping the child". Take care of yourself!

  30. So good to hear that your daughter is getting better. You are amazing - I don't think I could take on a baby and a toddler for so much time.
Hang in there. Prayers are still being sent.
