Happy New Year

We are having an unusual start of a new year. My father in law is very ill, so we have spent lots of time with him at the hospital. Fried eggs aren't our typical New Year's Eve menu, but it was yesterday. Some days time is much more important than food.

Today I have been been working on the quilt which I started last year (:), adding a little embellishment and hand stitching. It is very relaxing - which is quite welcome on a day like this. I keep wanting to add more to it, but I think it really is finished and I should just stitch the hanging sleeve to the back. It's not like I have nothing else to do, like taking down the Christmas decorations. Or maybe they could stay up until the weekend, I haven't really had time to enjoy them properly.

The quilt is for this year's challenge by the European Quilt Association. The theme is "Winter in the garden", and the size is to be 12"*12" and with an invisible binding. Terri, you were right, they are frosted berries.

I hope to finish the quilt in time, but it's not a big deal if I don't. There will always be a new challenge, right?
