I have read about a creative exercise where you cut out shapes with your eyes closed and thought it sounded like fun. Grandson and I gave it a try; his scissors being of the child friendly type (imagine the conversation I would have with the doctor in the ER otherwise).
This is my elephant; first try, no peeking.
Then we moved on to cutting fire houses and fire men and fire trucks; eyes open, still fun.
I’m going to do this again; have you tried?
What a fun thing to do...I have a bunch of kids in my charge tonight...will give this a go (child friendly scissors of course)
ReplyDeleteGillar verkligen den elefanten. Elefanter är en favorit :o)
ReplyDeleteThat is a great looking elephant!
ReplyDeleteYes, I did, at Art School, it was an exercise to be more aware of what you do while cutting a shape. We also had to paint with our left hand (when you where right handed) and the results were surprising!
I'm not sure mine would have looked like an elephant even with my eyes open. I'll have to try that.
ReplyDeleteImpressive! I'm pretty sure my elephant would be missing a trunk or leg or something. Fun idea.
ReplyDeleteNever tried with scissors, but it was an exercise in drawing class. There also was the exercise to put your paper (with a stiff cardboard backing) on our heads and draw the model... then there was the exercise to draw with only one line. These all were to loosen us up and relax our drawing expectations, I think. I drew better on the exercises - LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove you ele, you got it on the first snip!
Hugs,
It`s lovely,I `ll try this idea.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a fun exercise and your elephant came out great, time for an elephant quilt - no? xox Corrine
ReplyDeleteWow, that is impressive!!! I love your elephant shape a lot and look forward to seeing it in some fabric form. You even did a tail!
