I used to take pride in my multitasking skills. Last night I realized that I should stuff that pride in a drawer with old and forgotten sewing supplies because my multitasking skills are gone. I was just finishing up quilting a small quilt when I realized that my careful unsewing of some less than pleasing free motion stitching had left some small pieces unattached. So, while talking on the phone, I plugged in the iron, covered the quilt with a presser sheet and pressed, melting the tulle in the process.
Oh ...
Ohhh, that’s such a shame. I can’t helping thinking of my Mother-in-law who once was ironing when the phone rand and in stead of picking up the phone she picked up the iron and hold it to her ear!
ReplyDeletethe phone rang Nina Lisa, not rand. I need to reread my comments before publishing!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry about your tulle. It was such a cute quilt, too. Can you melt it all? Does it come off easily after melting? You could have discovered another neato technique!

Bummer! Probably not helpful at all, but I have been there. At least you didn't burn yourself in the process!
ReplyDeleteTime for mixed media madness, what else can go with your melty melty .....xox
