A Pressing Matter

A friend of mine had never set blocks together with sashing between, so I showed her how I do it. When I was pressing my rows for my "Warhol Angels" later, I used my little trick for getting the seam allowances in the right directions, and thought I might share it:

When I have rows of blocks where some of the seams should be pressed to the right, and some to the left, like
here where they should go towards the sashingI first press all the seams that goes to the left
then I turn the row upside down and press the rest of the seams - again to the left.
Voila – all the seams are in the correct direction without any distortions. If you are left handed, youll press all the seams towards the right.
