Christmas on Earth, Day Two & Three

I have joined in on SewCalGal’s Christmas Quilt Show again as I truly enjoyed last year’s show. Lots of lovely blogs to visit, quilts to see and bloggers to meet; what’s not to love?

I have chosen two of my Christmas on Earth projects for the show. Christmas on Earth is my Christmas class and pattern of the year. I had so much fun making these that I made 7 samples instead of the planned 4. Oh well, I see little globes decorated for Christmas wrapped up in colourful paper under a few Christmas trees come December 24th.

The design is quite simple, but it’s all the little details and embellishments that make them interesting. I love pieces where you have to take a closer look to see the whole picture.

Day Two
This table runner is raw edge appliquéd; machine quilted, embellished by hand and I think I’ll have to keep it for myself as it fits perfectly on my coffee table.

Day Three
This pillow is raw edge appliquéd, machine quilted, embellished by machine and I think I’ll have to keep this one as well as it fits perfectly on my couch.-)
I’ll be celebrating Christmas at home with my family – husband, daughter, grandson (3 ½) and in laws. It should be fun, grandson getting so big and all. He will probably prefer hot dogs to the traditional Christmas dinner with dried and salted ribs of lamb, potatoes and mashed Swedish turnips; and I’ll be happy to cook him some. Everyone should have something they like on Christmas.

You can see more of the Christmas on Earth series here. I’ll be running out of places to put Christmas projects...
