Creating Christmas on Earth

The process of creating my new class samples for the Christmas on Earth class has not been as smooth as I hoped for. My little Rules of Embellishment 1, 2 & 3 are bumps in the roads and mistakes I have made along the way to (what will hopefully be) lovely Christmas projects. A novice at embellishing, I’m still trying out my original ideas to see if they work at all. Not all of them do, you know. The good part of making and documenting these little accidents is that I now can tell my students what not to do. Quite important information I would say.

Anyway, what looks like a star from a distance is actually a lacy globe with trees of which one is decorated for Christmas. It’s more obvious up close, and I like that you have to take a closer look to see the whole picture.

  1. The background fabric is so perfect for this project and I love the little orange buttons, of course. Bumps in the road are a good thing....xox Corrine
